OCPP-EU – Ostendo Certified Privacy Professional EU certificate is an evidence of holder’s comprehensive understanding of the personal data protection in the European Union. Examination criteria and professional domains have been evaluated by the EDPB (European Data Protection Board) member, Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency and found to examine candidate’s professional knowledge and ability to carry out all activities and duties of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) as required by the GDPR.

How to become certified?

To become OCPP certified, you are required to pass an on-line exam consisting of 5 professional domains:

  • EU data protection laws and practices
  • In-depth understanding of the GDPR
  • Understanding typical data processing activities
  • Understanding information systems for data processing
  • Understanding information security in personal data processing

Is OCPP right for me?

If you are building professional career in privacy and personal data protection, taking OCPP exam will help you measure your knowledge and ability to make decisions in managing personal information as:

    • data protection officer,
    • internal auditor,
    • business manager,
    • IT manager or
    • any other business function which is directly or indirectly involved in personal data processing decision making.

OCPP certificate will also provides additional evidence of holfer’s profession to profesional comunity and employers.


OCPP is currently available in English only.

How does OCPP exam look like?

Candidates are taking the exam online, from the comfort of their homes or offices using their own computers. It will take two hours. Make sure you are ready to concentrate for such period of time. It’s a multiple-choice exam, meaning you need to select one of provide answers.

It’s “open-book” exam, meaning candidates are allowed to use literature and internet while taking the exam. However, pure knowledge of facts won’t be enough to pass. Examination questions are designed to put the candidate into the real-world situation, in which such resources will be available anyways.  Some questions are designed to be answered straight away without or with minimal use of external sources. To find some answers candidate will probably need to dig deeper into number of sources and decide about the best answer among few right ones. Some questions are designed to evaluate candidates ethical thinking and decision-making ability.
